Research Project Description:
My research focuses on the application of Distributed FACTS (DFATCS) devices in power flow control. Power flow control using Smart Wire DFATCS makes use of being able to transfer power to lines on which capacity is still available and dynamic line capacity rating, allowing greater integration of both conventional and intermittent renewable generation sources such as wind. This reduces cost due to a reduced need for transmission system extension and minimization of wind curtailment which reduces the overall cost of supplying the load.

Research Interests: Smart Grid, Power Flow Control, Distributed Generation (DG) Technologies, Optimization in Energy Networks.
